Update 5 July, 5.41pm:
Police are appealing for the driver of a vehicle reported to be on Streitbergs Road, Darnum, the night Danielle Hibbert went missing to come forward.
Warragul Police Sergeant Matt Crellin told The Warragul Citizen the driver was heard shortly after 5am near where the Darnum woman went missing.
“The vehicle has been heard to come down and remain in the area for a short period of time and then leave,” Sgt Crellin said.
“There was an appeal made… in relation to the driver of that vehicle to come forward so we can identify the reason that he or she may have been in the area.”
“It’s unusual for a vehicle to be in that area at that particular time as that area, Streitbergs Road, is technically a dead end.”
Police have expanded their search for Ms Hibbert, but have found no other leads to where the 25 year old might be.
“There are no other leads at this point in time; the search is ongoing,” Sgt Crellin said.
“[The Moe River area] is where it’s (the search) been conducted over the last 10 days, however we have extended it into other areas but in that close proximity.”
Friends of Ms Hibbert say they are concerned the search has not been broad enough, but Sgt Crellin insists the case is being fully investigated.
“The public can be rest assured that the search is not only in one particular area,” Sgt Crellin said.
“Obviously the proximity of the river to location where Danielle went missing is a concern to us and that [area] has been searched intensively, however there are other areas that have also been searched.”
Update 3 July, 5.29pm: “Search still on for missing Darnum woman Danielle Hibbert”
Warragul police have confirmed they are still searching for missing Darnum woman Danielle Hibbert over a week after she disappeared from a Darnum house.
Police and SES Volunteers will conduct another ground search for Ms Hibbert tomorrow.
Update 27 June, 4.19pm: “Police searching Moe River for missing Darnum woman Danielle Hibbert”
[Shortened.]
“We’ve done another search of the Moe River today with no success, so we’re now in a holding pattern and will re-assess tomorrow morning as to where we go… in terms of dealing with search and rescue.”
Police have evidence that Ms Hibbert, who was last seen on Streitbergs Road, is in the Moe River area.
Sgt Rosenboom is only confirming the information was not gathered from searches or the public.
“It’s just evidence that we’ve gathered at the time, I’d rather leave it at that,” Sgt Rosenboom said.
Sgt Rosenboom said Ms Hibbert is believed to be suffering from depression.
Update 26 June, 6.07pm: ”Grave concerns’ for missing Darnum woman Danielle Hibbert: Police’
Police have “grave concerns” for the welfare of 25-year-old Danielle Hibbert after air and ground searches failed to find the Darnum woman.
Warragul Police Sergeant Peter Rosenboom told The Warragul Citizen ground searches conducted by police and SES volunteers since yesterday and an air search have provided no clues to Ms Hibbert’s whereabouts.
“We’re just looking for people who may have seen her… because we do have grave concerns for her welfare,” Sgt Rosenboom said.
25 June, 5.36pm: Victoria Police are concerned for the welfare of Danielle Hibbert, 25, who went missing from a Darnum house overnight.
Ms Hibbert was last seen on Streitbergs Road at 11.30pm last night, and was discovered missing at 7.10am this morning.
Police believe Ms Hibbert may be wearing a black and grey shirt with three-quarter length sleeves, blue and white checked pyjama pants and no shoes.
She is 150cm tall with fair skin, shoulder-length blond hair, a stud earring and is of slim to medium build.
Police urge anyone with information of Ms Hibbert’s whereabouts to contact triple zero (000) immediately.
An image of Ms Hibbert has been released to help identification.
