Seriously injured driver airlifted after Copelands Road two-car crash

22 April 2012, 3.07am.

A seriously injured driver has been airlifted to hospital with suspected spinal injuries and two others suffered minor injuries after a crash on Copelands Road, Warragul, on Wednesday.

The injured driver was found trapped in their car with serious injuries at around 5pm. The car had been driven up an embankment beside the road.

Two others suffered minor injuries after their Toyota Hilux was overturned in the incident.

Emergency services freed the injured driver and worked to stabilise their head and neck before airlifting them to a Melbourne hospital.

The incident saw the road closed and large amounts of fuel leak from the Hilux, causing a fire risk. Baw Baw Shire workers were called to the scene to clean up the spill.

Police are investigating the incident.
